March.... AKA: The month of the Flu

Well, March turned out to be the month of the flu around these parts. Seriously, it ripped through our house and managed to hit everyone except for L2 (Thank goodness!).

I got it about a week and a half ago, and the stomach flu to make it even worse. I was down for the count for almost 4 days, it was so bad S actually had to stay home from work because I was in no position to be able to care for our children. It sucked big time. And the funny thing is, if you would have asked me a few weeks ago I would have probably said a sick day sounded kind of nice. Being waited on hand and foot, S fully taking care of the kids and the house while I lie around in bed and napped and watched Gossip Girl on Netflix..... sounds great, right? Yeah, but you forgot to take into account that you feel like total crap!

Thankfully, after a few days I was back to normal (and down four pounds... and unexpected silver lining!) and was grateful that it didn't appear that anyone else had caught it from me. Well, then last weekend my in-laws and S's aunt and uncle came down from CA to catch some spring training games and visit with us on the kids. On the first night my father in law came down with the chills, fever, cough..... the whole nine yards. By the second day his aunt had the same thing. When they left on the third day I was cautiously optimistic that everyone in my family had once again been spared. Wrong. By the night S was down and by the next day it had struck L too. And there is nothing worse then seeing your baby sick. So I spend the last three days playing nurse while trying to keep L2 separated from daddy and brother.

It appears that everyone is over it now, although I am keeping L home for one more day just to be sure. I hope the flu will move on to someone else to terrorize now!

In other news, my family is coming out next week and I am super excited. It's going to be my Mom and Dad, and my sister, brother-in-law and their three kids. They are staying for a week and we are going to be going camping for at least a few days, something we haven't done with our kids yet! And L LOVES playing with his cousins so I"m excited for him!

Also, this Saturday I'm running my first 5K. I"m excited and nervous all in one, but I think I'm ready. I've been running about 4-4.5 miles a day in addition to a few miles at the gym and my conditioning class that I take. Wish me luck!

I don't have a lot of pics from the last few weeks because, really, who wants pictures of sick people? But here's  a few!

L didn't leave my side when I was sick. It was very sweet, although I worried about him catching it from me!

This picture melts my heart, probably one of my favorite ever. He is such a good big brother!

Does this picture even need explaining? Look at that cutie!
